AVATAR 2 to Use Underwater Motion-Capture; AVATAR 3 Will Wrap up Jake and Neytiri’s Story
James Cameron is the writer for the famous movie, Avatar. Cameron is building up energy on writing the scripts for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. Although the plot isn’t known, Cameron know that some of the second film will take place underwater. While it’s possible to shoot dry-for-wet, it’s not all that persuading, and as we can all tell, Cameron is always up for a technological challenge. The producer of Avatar Jon Landau revealed that:
We have kept a team of digital artists on from Avatar in order to test how we can create performance capture underwater. We could simulate water [in CG], but we can’t simulate the actor’s experience, so we are going to capture performance in a tank.
Landau did not provide any further information on the development of that process, but he included that Avatar 2 and 3 will be shot back-to-back which will conclude the story of will wrap up the story of Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).
