Christopher Nolan Enlists TINKER TAILOR Cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema to Shoot INTERSTELLAR

The director Christopher Nolan is having some of his firsts with his new upcoming film Interstellar. Not only is this film the director’s first sci-fi film but it will also be Christopher’s first time without any cinematographer, he normally has Wally Pfister. Since his debut feature Following has came out he hasn’t been there. Nolan’s close collaborator is occupied with his own film project Transcendence. He will no longer be working to be the director of photography for the film Interstellar. With that being said many people have been wondering who Nolan will enlist to shoot the his upcoming movie. It has been going around that Nolan has got Hoyte Van Hoytema to act as the cinematographer on Interstellar.

Hoyte has had previous projects such as Let the Right One In, The Fighter, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and his most recent shot Spike Joneze’s upcoming film Her. It will be interesting to see how he gets along with IMAX since the director is planning on shooting a significant portion of Interstellar with large-format cameras. Very little is known about the plot if Interstellar.

What we do know is that it is about “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.” It is also known that Matthew McConaughey was last know to play the film’s lead male role and Anne Hathaway was recently signed on to be the movies female lead.
