Dwayne Johnson is set to star in and produce a 30 minute drama/comedy pilot for HBO.  This quick pilot is about the lives of athletes and he will be starring alongside his Pain & Gain co-star Mark Wahlberg as well as Steve Levinson.  The project takes place in Miami and the title is “chronicles the lives of athletes- some retired, some still active.”  Johnson will be playing the role of an athlete while Wahlberg will produce.  Levinson wrote several episodes of the Wahlberg-produced HBO series Entourage, which will be directed by Friday Night Lights hemler Peter Berg.  Production will begin this fall.

Along with this project, Johnson will be very busy when he has to start shooting his star role in Brett Ratner‘s Hercules.  Johnson also talks about returning for Fast & Furious 7.  Wahlberg on the other hand will be directing the pilot for Lost as well as Damon Lindelof‘s potential series, The Leftovers.
