A strange couple, musing and serious Alvin and his girlfriend’s brother, Lance, stupefied and self-conscience, leave the city behind to spend the summer in isolation repainting traffic lines down the center of a country highway destroyed by wildfire.  On their epic journey, they learn more than they want to about each other and their own limitations.  It’s weird for these two to become friends but their relationship develops through humor and nasty exchanges which brings them closer together at the end of the day. Adapted from Icelandic film Either Way, Prince Avalanche is driven by wonderful performances by Paul Rudd, Emile Hirsch, and Lance LeGault.  Writer/Director David Gordon Green gets back to his independent roots with his character evaluation, which shows his taler for capturing people and finding the purpose in their lives.   With a soundtrack by Explosions in the Sky and David Wingo and gorgeous cinematography by Tim Orr, Prince Avalanche is inspired by the theme of exploring and male bonding.

Magnolia Pictures has released the first teaser trailer and poster for director David Gordon Green’s (Pineapple Express) upcoming drama/comedy. Prince Avalanche.  The film stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch and it’s about two workers that spend their summer repainting traffic lines in the center of the highway.  There are about four characters that appear onscreen in the entire movie and most of the movie focuses on Rudd and Hirsch.  This trailer shows us the chemistry and bond between these fellas!
