First Very Brief Footage from Edgar Wright’s THE WORLD’S END
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five friends who’ve been friends since childhood reunite. One of them tries out for the drinking marathon and they are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man who encourages them to drink more. They attempt to reconcile the past and the present and they realize the real struggle is only ahead of them.
The first footage from director Edgar Wright‘s new film, The World’s End has been released online. The footage exhibits a series of clips from this summer’s upcoming films, and although the clips are short it should be acceptable as a teaser for fans who are waiting for the third and probably final film of the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy that began with Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost’s Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. The plot focuses on five childhood friends (played by Pegg, Frost, Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine, and Martin Freeman) going through an epic pub drinking content in order to earn the fabled pub’s “The World’s End.”
These two clips don’t reveal much of the storyline but the trailer for the film will be out soon.
The World’s End also stars Rosamund Pike and opens in the U.K. on July 19th and in the U.S. on August 23rd.
