A French trailer for Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer has appeared online, showing off lots of previously unseen footage from the forthcoming film. Set in a new ice age caused by an abortive attempt to solve the problem of global warming, the film follows the planet’s last few survivors, who are living aboard a train named Snowpiercer. Powered by a perpetual-motion engine, the train is able to sustain human life in the most inhospitable of climates, but the class struggles that exist within are threatening to boil over in spectacular style… Take a look at the new trailer, below: Packed with the most thrilling footage we’ve seen to date, it’s a trailer that’s really whetted our appetites for the finished film. We’re just hoping that the UK release is closer to the version released in Bong Joon-Ho’s native South Korea, and not the abbreviated version the Weinstein Company has apparently planned for the US market. Co-starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell and John Hurt, Snowpiercer has yet to receive a UK release date.
