New Gambit Trailer Shows Colin Firth At His Best

We are excited to bring you the first complete trailer for the upcoming movie Gambit, starring Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz. This movie is actually a remake of a Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine film from 1966. They twisted the story up a little bit, but the general premise is the same. The Coen Brothers (Ethan and Joel) wrote this newest version and it clearly is one of theirs. The trailer appears to be hilarious and certainly whets our appetite to see the film. Michael Hoffman directs and the movie stars tons of great actors and actresses. These include Firth and Diaz, but also Alan Rickman, Cloris Leachman, Stanley Tucci and others.

Colin Firth is one of the greatest actors of all time. There, I said it. There is something about his personality and even his voice that lends itself perfectly as the straight man in comedy, but still allows for range when dramatic tension is called for. In the remake movie Gambit, Firth gets to sink his acting chops into the character of Harry Deane. Deane is a con man that seeks out a rodeo queen in Cameron Diaz to help him work a job. He wants to sell the resident rich man (Allan Rickman) a fake Monet painting. Diaz’ job is to pose as a lady whose Grandpa acquired it during World War II.

Gambit is due out in the UK on November 21^st and it should hit American theaters early in 2013. Make sure you take the time to watch the trailer as it is hilarious and really captures why the movie will be such a hit. Diaz and Firth are perfect with one another and Rickman plays perhaps his funniest role ever as the enigmatic rich man.
