Michael Clarke Duncan, the hulking star of the Green Mile and many other wonderful movies, has passed away. Over a month ago, Duncan had suffered a heart attack. It is known that he was struggling with some lasting effects from that problem, though it is unclear at this time what actually caused his death. His fiancee Omarosa manigault had left his hospital room for a brief time and when she returned he was expired.

His representative released a statement to TMZ that confirmed the death and asked a public favor:

Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date.

Michael Clarke Duncan was always one of our favorites here at Review His large size did not reflect the gentle nature he often portrayed on screen. Few men that were as large as Duncan were able to play such a varied number of roles. Duncan could play the monster, the innocent, the hilarious and the heroic all with equal talent and verve.

His passing away at such a young age is not going to be easy for his friends, family or his fans. I know that personally I would get very excited when I saw that he was going to be in a movie. I never knew him personally, but I certainly knew his characters. We all did. That is what made him connect so well with his audience.

Our deepest wishes of healing and love go out to all who knew him. The loss will be heavy and he will never be forgotten. That is the beauty of movies for us fans…we can always go back and see his movies to remember. Rest easy big fella and we will miss you.
