In ways the amazing success of the Veronica Mars Kickstarter project hurt potential high-profile searching for fan funding because it is certainly a tough act to beat. This isn’t hard for Zach Braff though. He was inspired by the Veronica Mars project to take his next movie to a kickstarter. He hopes to raise a minimum of $2 million. He admits that there are other ways of financing the movie but he says that he wants to be in complete control this time. Doing a kickstarter gives him exactly what he wants.

This film to be kickstarted is titled Wish I Was Here. Braff admits that even though it does not have the same stars it has the same feel as his previous movie Garden State. Garden State is a movie about finding yourself in the twenties and Wish I Was Here is a film about finding yourself in the thirties. Braff says that Jim Parsons will be starring as his best friend in the film. Donald Faison will also be starring along with Chris Hardwicke.
