Jimmy Fallon to Take Over THE TONIGHT SHOW in 2014?
It has been heard that Jimmy Fallon will be making his move on taking over NBC’s The Tonight Show sooner then everyone thought. New York Times claims that Fallon was asked to take over in place of Jay Leno no later then 2014. Aside from Fallon, The Tonight Show will be moving from Los Angeles back to its original space, New York City. Fallon has done exceptionally well on his show Night With Jimmy Fallon since it has been airing which was in 2009. NBC is very pleased with Fallon’s doings.
Apparently some executives on NBC are anything but hesitant when it comes to airing Fallon on The Tonight Show by 2014. Aside from them, the producer of the show, Lorre Michaels isn’t thrilled about rushing into the transition. An official announcement will be made on NBC in May about Fallon taking over. The network has already begun work on a studio at 30 Rock in NY. NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt says that replacing Leno with Fallon sooner then later will prevent him from going to work on a rival channel because his contract doesn’t end until September 2014.
Stay tuned to NBC in May for more information on this. What does seem to be in cement is that Jimmy Fallon will be the next host of The Tonight Show.
