MISS BALA Director Gerardo Naranjo Replaces Joe Carnahan on DEATH WISH Remake
MGM has confirmed its replacement for director Joe Carnahan (The Grey) on its remake of Death Wish the 1974 Charles Bronson film. MGM and Carnahan debated on who should play the film’s protagonists therefore he dropped out last month, after working on the film for over a year. The film is about a liberal architect who seeks revenge after his wife and daughter are attacked. MGM wanted Bruce Willis to play the role but Carnahan disagreed.
Variety reports that the director Gerardo Naranjo who directed the film Miss Bala and The Mountain Between Us, wants to take the helm. Carnahan, John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris wrote the script for Death Wish and Brad Pitt and Will Smith were recruited to star in the movie along with Willis.
