Peter Jackson Expresses Interest In Doctor Who

When it comes to Doctor Who and Lord of the Rings, it appears that fans would not mind a little bit more crossover appeal. Both of these franchises have a ton of fans, and they are generally rabid for anything on the subject. Doctor Who has been around for what seems like forever but the franchise continues to have huge fan appeal for each new generation. Lord of the Rings is awesome as well, and has more than its share of famous fans.

No fan is larger in the world of Lord of the Rings as Peter Jackson himself. The director was recently questioned about some type of crossover between the two franchises and whether he might shoot an episode given the chance. Peter’s response has to have Doctor Who fans salivating and Lord of the Rings fans alike. He said:

“I’m a huge Doctor Who fan, and I think Matt’s fantastic. Just name a time and place, and I’ll be there!”

Matt Smith, star of Doctor Who, mentioned this during a Waikato Times conversation.

While the actual show will not likely happen any time soon, you never know. Peter Jackson is a huge fan of the show, and weirder things can happen. It is hard to imagine how the directors and coordinators with Doctor Who would not be knocking down doors to find Peter Jackson’s phone number. The possibilities here are endless.
