RED HILL Director Patrick Hughes to Helm THE EXPENDABLES 3

A director has been chosen for the next Expendables film.  Sylvester Stallone said that he asked Mel Gibson for the directing job for the Expendables 3 but Patrick Hughes will be taking charge.  Stallone tweeted that The Expendables 3 needed “freshness, class, and much badass” and that he found those three necessities in the Austrailian filmmaker, who made his feature directorial debut on the 2013 thriller Red Hill.

So far we don’t know much about The Expendables 3 and the story behind it but Stallone recently states his intention to add more humor to the franchise and says he hopes Jackie Chan will join the cast.  It seems like they want to make the film as entertaining as possible. Hughes received solid marks for Red Hill and it’s great to see a young talent like him being brought into the franchise.  With a director on board, we should be looking forward to getting more plot information.  You can view Hughes’ short film Signs at this link:
