The 2013 Cannes Film Festival lineup has been announced.  This festival will open on May 15th with Baz Luhrmann’s 3D modification of The Great Gatsby - A roaring ’20s celebration for the Hollywood jet-set crowd.  A few filmmakers will be introducing projects this year, along with the Coen brothers, Alexander Payne, Steven Soderbergh and Roman Polanski.

The 1960s-setting tale, Inside Llewyn Davis from the Coens will explain the heyday of New York’s folk-music scene.  Soderbergh‘s Behind the Candelabra is modified from the novel by Scott Thorson, played by Matt Damon in the film.  Nebraska is Payne’s father-son bonding film, starring Bruce Dern, Bob Odenkirk, Stacy Keach and Will Forte.

Roman Polanski has two films exhibiting this year: Venus in Fur.  This film is a modification of the David Ives play, Weekend of a Champion.  Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn will come together once more for the film Only God Forgives, which is about a gangster in Bangkok.
