By now i’m sure that we are all used to every major studio horror movie hitting the DVD market with things saying Unrated all over it. However, the new Texas Chainsaw is not going through the typical path of a DVD release when it comes out on May 14. There will be an unrated version but fans will have to purchase that separately. This means that if you buy the Blu-Ray pack, the one that comes with the movie is the standard cut, not the unrated one. This is the first time in a long time something like this has happened, moneymaking is what comes to mind.

Just because its an unrated version, it doesn’t mean that it has anything special. This just means that the movie has some deleted scenes, which all movies do. Let’s just hope this does not become a norm with horror movies. We might have to start double dipping or downloading instead of purchasing.
