VACATION Remake Delayed Indefinitely Citing Creative Differences over Movie Rating

Posted April 24, 2013 by Rick in Movie News

It is unfortunate to say that creative differences have left the anticipated by many Vacation remake stranded for the time being. The writers and debut directors of this movie John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein had everything set up and organized. Ed Helms and Christina Applegate were set to star as the movies main characters.

Ed would play Rusty Griswold and Christina would play Rusty’s wife. Unfortunately  the process of production has hit a snag, even though it was in an active pre-production. It was planned to be shot in Atlanta this July. Their sources say:“some [want] to make a broader, PG-13 movie, while others want to keep it R-rated, like the original. One source says the delay will last only a few months, but others say the movie could be pushed to later this year.”

The sources do not reveal who is saying what and who is on what side. They even do not say how much Warner Bros. has an influence on it. New Line’s corporate sibling must give a heads up to the movies and it was in the decision. It has been said that this problem had been going on for a while and the hopefully just temporary hold decision happened just this Friday that passed.
